    Default Swift FB89

Hey everyone, was possibly looking at purchasing a Swift FB89 and just wanted too know a bit about the chassis before committing to the car. How much do they weight? What are there handling characteristics like? Are they ok in the wet? Are they similar to an Switt DB1 they do look quite the same I’ve herd the FB89 has a bigger cockpit than the DB1 and also has the LD200, and how the stack up against an VD89 or a Reynard 87-89 as it would be for historic pre89 and that would be its main competition. Any info would be much appreciated.

    Regards Mark

    Default

the swift FB89 is an almost carbon copy of the DB1. The main differences are a wider foot box and it uses an LD200 trans.

All the hardware (bearings, rod ends, bushings, etc) are the same. suspension parts can be subtly different. I found out the hard way that rocker arms for a FB89 are different than a FB90 or FB91. It seems like every year they tweaked the geometry and the rocker arms are not interchangeable as individual pieces, only as a set.

handling wise, it's *just* a DB1 and still a potent car when setup properly
