    Greg;

    I went to your website and stared at the belt driven oil pump assembly for quite some time, only to realize this is a piece of magic. Absolutely amazing, never seen anything like it.

    But I noticed two lines coming off the oil pump and the fuel line into the carburetor were covered with an olive-drab material. May I trouble you for the reason and a possible source, please? My surmise is heat, but just why selected lines?

    Rebuilding my car from ground up, to include a fresh GearDaddies GB, and a long-rod, big cam, new carb QS engine. Just want to do it right. Your mentorship will be well appreciated.

    I don't know about doing it right. More a case of doing it the most expensive way. The engine came in a car that has never been raced. The original owner was a wealthy vintage racer who wanted to build the best Formula Ford ever. After 9 years of building, he sold the car, and I took over the build, atleast getting the car on track for testing. Everything on the car was done to be the best, which carried over to the engine.

    The oil lines were lightweight cloth (nylon I expect) with crimped on ends. That is the green showing. I don't know the brand. I generally use nylon braided black lines now unless I think the line needs the protection of steel-braiding. Because those green lines have crimped ends, I left them with the engine (rather than car) hoping the buyer can use them. I'm not very good at building show cars as my outlook is driven by simplicity and efficiency of operation.
