Hi,
Looking at fuel injected options for 2000 and older cars. I want to go vintage racing. What are the fuel injected options? Cost of conversion if I do my own work? Legal? Thanks for and all help.

Depending on which Vintage group you want to run with, you’ll find various levels of “period correctness” being enforced. AFAIK, there were no fuel injected 2-Litre FC’s back in 1995. (Not sure anyone has converted a 95VD to a zetec, wouldn’t seem worth it.)
The answer is always: “contact the group you want to run with first” before spending time and money.

Thanks for the reply. Will look into it. Rules books can be a challenge.
I guess what I really like is the idea of a fuel injected Honda or similar motor. I love the look and sound of carburetors. But not a lot else.
Fuel injected that old a car ??.....doubt it would be allowed..............some Vintage won't even allow that car to be a 'long rod Pinto' much less a Zetec. And (because I know after talking to Vintage in the SouthEast) some won't even allow an FC at some events because FC generally is a car that ran on slicks...and Vintage doesn't seem to like slicks on cars.... or is it cars on slicks ?
The early water cooled FSV engines of the late 1970's had a fuel injected Rabbit engine. The fuel injection system was mechanical and was converted from a diesel VW engine of period. Compared to carbs, it worked very well.
The FSV cars were legal in FC at the time.
A number of years ago, some guys in FL put a ztech in at least one 96 Van diemen. It was all home grown stuff, so I don't know about legality or quality of installation. I believe Skip Weld, who is on this forum, purchased said car(s) a few years ago. Perhaps you can search him out for any info about it.
