Yes, I heard about the cancellation via Facebook SCCA groups.

There was a call out for the upcoming Barber event in hopes that it would not have the same problem.

Did a quick scan of their post - low entries and "the Cov"...
Just wonder how many racers will not meet seasonal requirements --Again .

Ultimately, perhaps driving down membership and overall participation?

    No cheers here - Jim
When I used to fly Phantoms, I was called an AVIATOR.
Now I race cars. So, am I now called a PAVIATOR?

Tennessee Valley Region and Alabama Region of the SCCA were saddened to see that the Roebling Road race on August 14 - 15 had to be cancelled. We would like to remind you of the Double SARRC and TT at Barber Motorsports Park on August 28 - 29. We too are experiencing low entries at this date and need your help to make the race survive. If you plan to attend, please register no later than August 10 th which will allow us to make an informed decision about holding this race. We appreciate all the support that the SEDIV drivers and workers have given us in the past. Registration is currently open on MotorSportReg.

In the past couple of days, drivers have responded by registering for Barber. We are not yet at the break even point but the trend is positive. If you have already registered, we thank you. If you plan on attending and have not yet registered, please do so. Credit cards are not charged until you sign in at Registration.

Thank you to Buccaneer Region for assisting us with their email messages. Their assistance and that from others is indicative of the positive SEDIV spirit. Racers supporting racers!

EDIT: Entries have been increasing over the past 3 days. Still not to the break even point point but one heck of a lot closer. Please spread the word!

If it's "the Cov", then it's self-inflicted by racers choosing not to attend, as there are no visibly enforced Covid restrictions in place at RRR these days that we saw.
We ran a very well attended HPDE-type event there last weekend.

Talent usually ends up in front, but fun goes from the front of the grid all the way to the back.

    Default hot

I did this event last year and it was brutally hot - like 97 degrees and high humidity. I drank around 2gal of water per day, had a cold towel and tons of ice but I was still light headed and seeing spots a few times climbing out of the car. Call me a wus but I wasn't planning to go back this year (and had a family conflict anyway).

I'm just a hobbyist driver so I stick to the other 3 seasons here in the southeast.

At last weekends HPDE day, they declared a heat-index of 112 degrees.... we had fun regardless.
I moved south purposely for the heat LOL
