Best thing you can do for your safety and comfort is to make a SFI 45.2 foam seat. The original fiberglass seats do not absorb impact energy like a bead seat or an SFI foam seat such as bald spot sports seats. The impact is transferred to your body. Lots of discussion if you do a search.

Follow DanW's advise and build a foam seat.
I had a hard, side ways hit in my C4 and my leg impacted the side of the dash bulkhead hard enough to damage the nerves. that was over 50 years ago and I still have no feeling where I hit that frame member. A bead seat would have minimized that injury and may prevented any injury more that temporary bruising.
The only damage to the car was where the wheels impacted the guard rail and bent the rims. The seat did need work after that incident.
Some time later I built my seats out of aluminum, formed to fit my body. And one of those seats saved me from very serous injury in a FF crash at Road Atlanta. I broke the car in half, through the cockpit. Bottom line, be anal about seat design and safety.
