Can someone give me a good reason to have an ignition switch? As there must be an isolator switch for the driver to use, why not use that.

The ignition switch is just one more thing to bump, vibrate to death and fail.

So one can crank the engine to build oil pressure or oil it down w/o activating ignition or fuel injection.

If you have a throttle stick open and want to kill the engine quickly can you get to the master? Remember the car might be bounding through the grassy runoff and be making life difficult to access things. Happened to me once, and I now have the ignition switch with a red cover near my left hand so a swipe in its general direction turns off the ignition (next to it is the fuel pump switch with the same cover)

Use aircraft/military grade switches, no junk.
