    Default WOSP Performance Starter

    Maui,

It is a little hard to tell from the photo but it looks like that is a Tilton XLT starter. If you can't find a used one, you may want to consider a WOSP Performance starter. I have started using them on my Formula Fords. They appear to be very similar to the XLT but have a more robust indexable mounting flange. Here is a photo:

They are about half of the cost of a new XLT. They make a two and a three bolt mounting flange and the offer 9 and 10 tooth gears. Here is a link to their website: http://www.wosperformance.co.uk/prod...tarter-motors/. You can find them in the US on Ebay. Here is the one I purchased for a Formula Ford with a 110 tooth ring gear: https://www.ebay.com/itm/18465568091...m=184655680910.

    Cheers, Joe

Wosp starters are well-known this side pond and have a good reputation. I have one on my latest Pinto engine, destined for the Swift DB3.
