    Default 1984 Reynard

    SOLD

Own a Piece of History, this car is previously owned and raced by the most famous “APEXer” of all time. The car has completed a full ground up restoration and then run four events. It had virtually every part on it either remade or refurbished, it tips the scales w/o fuel just under 1000lbs. The engine is Butler built that was refreshed with Ivey valve springs, new followers and uprated scca spec cam (set retarded 3dg). The gearbox was rebuilt with a new case and has the annular style hydraulic slave. Fuel cell was re foamed, all uprights have new brgs, steering rack is refurbished with new bushings, New Swift Style dash Panel, all new gauges, New Fire Marshall fire system(will need recert in Feb), All new Alum Skins with bonded Floor, new Saldana Radiators, new water pipes, new Headrest with SFI foam, headers and collector refurbished with new Stainless tail pipe. Bodywork is stripped down to the gelcoat then refurbished, new nose from Crowe composites, Averill front wings and Vd rear wing. Diffuser is a modified unit from an 88 Reynard, I could go on and on but you get the idea.
    $18500
    Spares include

    1 Polycarbonate Windscreen
    5 sets Front wing Plates

My guess: Mark Hathaway from Atlanta

Before that it was raced out of Plover Wisconsin. (Rock)

I was thinking it might have been yours, seeing as you and Dave are the most famous APEXer's.

I think it looked like this in 2002...
    early Purple Frog

I don't think it has ever looked as nice as it looks now; not even when it first left England.

In 1998 I think I was working at the Daytona 24. During the night I was chatting with a suspension engineer on a big name race team (name withheld to protect the innocent). I said I was thinking about getting into FC. He told me the best car to start with was an 84 Reynard. Saying it was the most balanced easiest car to learn in. I took him at his word. I think it still holds true.

I last saw Jerimiah in a warehouse in Atlanta around 2007... It was totally clapped out and rough.

The rebuild you have done is incredible. A work of art.

Could never use the "V" brace above the pedals, my feet were too big.

I added the 1/4" steel webs on the front of the front uprights. As the tires and brakes got better over the years the older upright design tended to crack. No problem after adding the webs.

PF countless hrs were spent on details most won’t appreciate but being a former top level professional race mechanic it was necessary work to bring the car back to the quality level I am accustomed to. V brace, yes it pays to have small feet. Notice the rt front upright has your web, the lf I added a gusset as seen in the pics. Mark must’ve had a bit of a shunt...I have the webbed upright But it is needing a little attention.
thank you for the kind words, the new owner will be very happy with this car

    Default 1984 Reynard for sale

I saw this car at Buttonwillow and it is every bit as nice as it looks in the pictures. I'd say the price is pretty fair and I'm tight with money!
