Default and a MK9 gearbox costs how much? :-)

New Tremec TKX 5-speed gearbox ready for installation

    November 12, 2020

Tremec's new TKX 5-speed manual transmission can deal with 600 pound-feet of torque.

American Powertrain says the new TKX has a compact and streamlined case, triple-cone synchronizer like that of the Magnum T-56 and can handle 7,500 rpm and 600 pound-feet of torque.

The gearbox also features a single overdrive for reduced engine wear and improved fuel consumption at highway speeds.

    The TKX retails for $2,795.

    Apples and Oranges.

You can also purchase a brand new (not rebuilt) 460HP Coyote engine complete with a 24month warranty for less than the cost of a complete, freshly-rebuilt Kent.

Made in Mexico at the factories that make OEM transmissions, and in quantities far above what the MK8/9 were ever made at. You just cannot compare the costs.

That's why a Formula 6200 would be fun. Buy back all those Panoz DP-01s and put LSx376 crate motors in, sealed. About 475 hp, under $10K carb to pan. Would be faster & safer than F5000 was!
