Who's the best guy to re-valve and probably dyno Penskes for a freshen-up and motion-ratio change? I know Stimola was The Man. Who follows in his footsteps?
Thanks,
Chris

This would be your guy.
Chris Livengood, enjoying underpriced ferrous whizzy bits that I hacked out in my tool shed since 1999.
or 516-671-3960 Yep, Angelo's your man

I have been using Lindstrand Motorsports with good results. Chris at the shock shop has also done a lot of good work.
I use Lindstrand Motorsports for my once-every-three-years-shock-rebuild. I am very happy with them. PM me if you want some contact info.

I use Pete at RaceCo. He's great.
You can reach him at speedy7223@hotmail.com
Cheers,
John
Why would you not send them back to Penske for a freshen? Ask for Geoff Miller 610-375-6180. They are reasonable and who would know more about Penske's?

Better to have raced for a day...
than been a spectator for life!
Good point. Send them to the factory or a factory authorized dealer/service center.
RaceCo is one of those. Pete's been through Ohlin's training and RaceCo is a certified dealer and service center (not sure of the formal wording, but you get the drift). And while I don't think he's officially at the same level with Penske (I could be mistaken) he will let you know if he can't handle the task.
Odds are, he can do it - in addition to servicing my Penske shocks he does them for about everyone else out here, too (DSR, Porsche, etc.).
By the way, I have no affiliation with RaceCo. I am just a happy customer.
Angelo at ANZE hands down. (516) 671-3960. You won't be disappointed. He is away at PRI this week but you can reach him on his cell if you'd like. PM me if you want the number.
He has done a wide variety of racers I know on the west coast. And all the drivers are at the pointy end of the grid.
He has been honest and informative and spends the time to educate the people need educating.
And fair priced.. he is in your neck of woods.. At least give him a call and you will immediatly decide if hes right for you.

I'll throw my hat into the ring with another +1 for Chris Billings at the Shock Shop in Oregon. It transformed my Stohr DSR when he re-did my Penskes.

4th vote of confidence for ANZE and Angelo! Send him your stuff and he'll take care of you.
Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays.
Looking for an update on this thread from 9 years ago or so.
Probably need to rebuild the shocks, and get some recommendations on valving.

I had my Penske's rebuilt at LMI. They are great to work with and in your area.

We had Guy Ankeny do ours on the Van Diemen and they were phenomenal when they came back. As a bonus, he's pretty quick to turn them around and also quite fair on pricing.
