I had a chat with Don Preston about this while at the Runoffs, and told him that we'd enter some west coast races with the Ralt if it would be let in. He just chuckled and said, "No way, Stan!"

I spoke to Vicki oConnor about the C2 classification and asked about allowing the Ralt chassis into this class. She stated that the chassis is aging and outdated. The championship runs on courses with concrete walls and they do not feel as though the Ralt has enough safety features to be a safe race car in these situations. I told her that I watched Rennie take out 6 poles at the ten foot level and walk away from the accident. That would seem to me to be a fair testament to the safety of the Ralt chassis. Possibly an update package for the Ralt would allow the chassis to be included. I doubt it, but it may be worth asking for.

Thanks for trying, Darryl, but that excuse is laughable. I offered to add the wheel retainers (the big "safety" factor they quoted me) and use the new spec ECU and Don still said no.
The simple fact is that Swift built a slower car (more drag, less stiff) than the Ralt, and the series is not about to allow someone to come in and steal the spotlight from the Swifts.
