Default Helmet wraps - who's done it?

I have a plain white Bell helmet I'm getting sick of looking at. I'm thinking about a wrap kit or sending out for wrapping. Can anyone comment on their experience with the process? What kit/supplier do you recommend? Cost vs. painting?

    Looking forward to your thoughts,
    Ron

Subscribed to this one... My black helmet is boring and I'm not too thrilled about paying $750 to not have it black.

My helmet was white. I bought some very inexpensive vinyl in yellow (to match the car). It's nothing fancy but it spiffs it up for very little investment.

(The helmet in the photo is my previous one. New helmet has identical graphic. )

There are a few videos on helmet wrapping and rattle-can paint jobs on Youtube. It sort of depends on your design and skill set. The couple times I have done graphics on my car, the design very much kept in mind the method I was using. This helped a it to insure a decent result. As Gary points out, you can get vinyl cheap. You can always buy some and then just make a run at it!

Our vinyl guy at Andretti did mine for me. Looks great and is holding up really well.
Buy good vinyl, worth the extra money

Takes some practice, but do able. Compound curves a huge pain. Have a hair dryer ready

    Default Harris Decals

Unless you’re going to pay someone to do the wrap, it’s going be a lot harder than you think. And in most cases it will be just as expensive as painting if not more to have it done right.

If you want something simple you can do yourself, Harris decals has customizable graphics kits for helmets. They’re not complete wraps so they’re easy to do and actually look pretty good for a few bucks. Harrisdecals.com

There's a guy in Arizona named Mike Royal (Google him) that's painting anything you want on a helmet for $500

Ok, here's a link to his Instagram page. He did my helmet and I'm happy with it.

    Default Helmet wrap

Here’s a helmet I wrapped recently. $150. Customer approved my first design with no changes, which kept the cost down.

steve signhurse in AZ - paintbysteve.com painted my helmet its great, i love it, was not over priced, very reasonable. likely 2x having it wrapped.

i wrapped my old helmet myself, got a bunch of scraps from a vinyl sign shop, some blue holographic stuff. it looked pretty cool from 5 feet. but very happy with the job steve did painting my new one. most of it all his ideas i just said "Italian flag across the face and jazz it up"
