Hey, maybe some open-wheel racing is coming back to Colorado!
Jeff / Teuobk - happy to provide help and assistance if you need any getting used to your new car. Gary is one of the best-of-the-best kind of guys, so you're going to be absolutely over the moon.
Drop me a line if you're ever headed out to the track!

Will do, Jake! I'm pretty excited about it.
I just need to break the news gently to my daily driver that both spots in the garage are now for race cars only
Jeff
The car has made it to Colorado, and I can't wait to get it on the track.

Great car and well purchased. Off subject but how well will the Suzuki ECU compensate for elevation change from Santee to Denver?
You got one hell of a deal! Did you get all the spares listed in the add? That would be close steeling it! I do see a complete spare nose/wing assy in the picture.
Welcome to the F1000 community. You will have a ball driving it.......F1000 are the most exciting cars I have driven.......and that includes everything from FV to CanAm.
I see an FV in the picture. Is it a vintage vee?

Good question. I'll need to do some testing, but it seems plausible that I'll need to fiddle with the maps.
Yup, all of the listed spares and tires -- so very many tires! -- were indeed included. Not only that, everything was packed well and nicely labeled, which was a pleasant surprise.
I'm super excited about getting it out on the track. Still need to pour a new seat, which I understand can be a bit of a learning experience , but I imagine I'll be able to figure that out well enough to get some laps in before the snow flies.
You're correct: that's a vintage Vee, specifically a 1970 Zink C4. I'm planning to continue to race it, in part because the vintage FV grids are quite decent around here, in part because it's super affordable to operate, and in part because I have a soft spot for making old machines continue to run in the modern world.
Jeff
Seems to handle it well enough. I never changed anything going from CO to Road America or out west to CA. I always just had whatever tune GDRE put in there. There is a MAP sensor, so it knows atmospheric pressure etc.
Is it 100% perfect...probably not, so maybe a dyno tune would gain a few HP up here...could I ever detect any real problem etc...no.

Got Gary's old car, now mine, out on the track for the first time today. Keeping in mind that I'd never previously driven a downforce car of any sort, let alone this specific car, and also with the caveat that this car wasn't specifically set up for this track (High Plains Raceway in Colorado), I think it went reasonably well:

In any case, I'm very impressed with the car, and I was grinning ear to ear -- after I remembered to breathe
Jeff
The car looks very nice! Your garage looks good too.
There's an SCCA Regional at La Junta next weekend.
