Guys,
Hi. I'm cleaning up and painting the front suspension of my GFrorce GF05 IRL car and I have three questions:
1) How do I remove the wheel retainer mechanism? Only one of the four hubs still has the retainer, the other three are missing. From looking at the other three, it looks like it just slides in. But this one won't slide out. Is it just stuck? Or do I need to compress the two retainer wings somehow? Or does it have something to do with that little hole in the side of the hub. I tried sticking a metal probe in the hole hoping for some sort of release mechanism, but that didn't work.
2) Does anyone know what brand of brake caliper this car used originally? The radial mounting studs are about 110 mm on center (maybe 109 mm or 4 5/16 inches). I did a quick check of the popular manufacturers, but didn't find anything with that spacing.
3) How does the brake hat secure to the hub? My guess is that it is held on by the four locating posts (meaning I unbolt the posts and install the hat mating surface under the posts), but I wanted to find out for sure.
Thanks.
