    Default GoPro roll bar mounts

After getting the first GoPro, I vowed never to go back but they have improved a lot! I got a Hero5 recently and video was great although the body mounting was too low to see the track well.

What has been found to be a good mount for the top of the roll bar? I see a bunch of styles on Amazon and rather than buy a couple and see which I like best, I'm hoping some experienced users can help.

    TIA

I'm also interested in other's experience.

The GoPro roll bar mount had so much vibration that the SD card ejected out of a Hero 2. After adding some spacers to hold it in, the video was awful due to the rolling shutter issue. It looked pretty trippy with the car and space warping, but not what I was hoping for.

I ended up using a suction mount on the body by my shoulder with a short extension and a strap back to the rollbar to remove some large/slow vibration.

I've been very happy with the PanaVise 13250 BarGrip XL on the top of the roll bar on my Vee. I use it with my GoPro Hero7 Black.

**Edit: Here's a sample video showing how it stayed solid even when I did a bit of farming

Here are 4 examples of different configurations I have used:

    1. Gopro 5 with rollbar mount - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6Btl9GhfHI&t=240s
    2. Gopro5 with original sticky mount (facing back camera) - https://youtu.be/AIod06yWbjQ?t=255
    3. Gopro Session with rollbar mount - https://youtu.be/4DQkdUjJ_YA?t=3
    4. Gopro Session with original sticky mount on helmet - https://youtu.be/B5I09tzPHmg?t=13

I used the "GoPro Large Tube Mount" like below and would recommend it:

I don't have any GoPro experience.

I have been using Garmin VIRB Elite(s) since 2015. The first 3 of them I had I mounted to the roll bar with the Garmin mounts - as I said the first 3. Within a race weekend or a most two - the unit(s) stopped working. I worked with Garmin Customer Service and they would replace the one that I sent back to them that wasn't working. Once I got the 4th one, I decided to mount it to the fiberglass roll bar fairing. That camera has been working flawlessly since the middle of 2016 to Watkins Glen last weekend through rain and heat and everything else including bug strikes and sand blastin..

The secure mounting on the roll bar was transferring all the engine vibrations to the camera and apparently shaking it to the point of failure. While vibration does get to the roll bar fairing it is not of the intensity that damages the camera.

I've been using the one below on my R1 Locost. It works well with minimal vibration but make sure you tighten it between sessions. My last session on Saturday is a wonderful video of the sky above NCM.

+1 to not liking roll bar mounts for cameras on formula cars. In my case, we've been using Contour cameras (much better aero package than the GoPro brick). Roll bar mounting was similarly unsuccessful; mounting to the body is much happier, takes out the vibrations enough to make the optics happy.

I just got a new Hero 7 black and have had a Hero 3 for many years. I tried it out last weekend at Gratten and used the one the car owner had which was like the one pictured above. While at Oshkosh last year I came across a vendor who sells plane mounts and did by some stuff from them and switched to that and it worked well just wished the camera did, it never recorded past 8:51. Here is the company FLIGHTFLIX.net.

I've been using Ram Mounts for my GoPro Session. My setup has very low vibration and produces good video quality.
