I couldn't cut and paste the text from the Schroth website, maybe it's a picture of text?

Anyhow, it was explaining the difference between SFI 16.5 and 16.6. It said that for negative G considerations, 16.6 requires 7 and 9 point mounting?

    Maybe I'm missing a joke?

7 point would have a belt that is mounted directly forward toward the drivers heels. It holds the lap and shoulder belts in place in a rear impact. Keeps the driver from climbing up the seat. I have personal knowledge of its effectiveness.

You get to 9 point by adding two 2" belts to the shoulder belt layout. They control only the HANS device. The HANS goes on top of the 3" shoulder belt and below the 2" shoulder belt. The theory being a little better force distribution on the drivers shoulders with the wider 3" belt.

I really like the 7th strap. It keeps tension in the shoulder straps if you are upside down. Easy to add, even if it's not a current spec strap. I have some cars with the double shoulder straps. They were a PITA for the one driver and we disabled the secondary strap portion.
