    Default March 76B

I'm going to be parting with my March 76B. Chassis No 9. It's about a 90% complete roller, but needs a fair amount of work.
My question is would it be better to part it out or sell as is?

    Thank you,

    Ian,

76B is an awfully nice car to drive. I co drove one in vintage Enduro races with a guy in the 90's. We won a bunch of races with that car and it was a pleasure to drive. It would be a shame to part out such a great car.

    Ian,

Please do not part the car out. That takes an important chassis out of the industry. You may think you'll get more money by parting out when you consider the gearbox and the major bulkheads and tanks, but you'll wind up with a lot of odds and ends that won't be of use to anyone except the two people in the world who need them - and they'll be too cheap to buy them.

Sell it complete and be rid of it.

The response to the suggestion that I might break up this car has been very strongly that I should not. Always one to listen to good advice I've decided against it,

I shall be listing the car for sale as a project car on ApexSpeed shortly.

Just to add to what Charles Warner has said.
    Don't break it!
This was a real find, and is a genuine and unproblematic 76B - whereas a lot have been messed with.
There is even another "76B-9" out there. Yours is genuine, I've seen the plate. The other car was probably genuine - I think it's the ex Tom Gloy car - but someone stuck a fake plate on it to give it a name.
Yes, 76B-9 was the Don Breidenbach car.

Sell it and find someone to finish it and love it.

just checked my scan archives and found that i do not have the breidenbach/briedenbach car scanned.

the other less than wonderful news is that my scanner no longer works.

    major bummer.

    there is a solution though.

i have two different scanners in mind and whomever would like to buy one for me would get scans and prints up to the value of one of those scanners in return.

the scanners cost about 2 grand and 5 grand respectively.

so make my day and flood my inbox with offers.

i'll be the guy in the corner not holding my breath.

Ian: I checked race results from 1976 Pro races and found Don Breidenbach results:
    --Laguna Seca May 2, 1976 qualified 22nd, finished 12th.
--Ontario, CA May 9, 1976 qualified 4th, DNF one lap
--Westwood, BC May 30 qualified 11, finished 10
I see no more results after that so did the money run out? Who raced Dons car next?

    woW!!!

When I put March M76B in to Google and then select images (trying to look at a typical car of this type) the pictures are ALL of assault rifles and hand guns in the Luger style.

It's fer sure the M76B that's throwing the search off track.
