Default Gaspar FV $2800 - SOLD

I have a Formula Vee for sale.

Unknown manufacture runs drives and stops.

I believe the car came from Maine.

I do not know when the last time it was on a track or out anywhere.

Has SCCA Number stamped on frame.

I am not a Formula Vee guy, but will answer any questions I can

If you know something about this FV please let me know. year manufacture etc

I figure someone could use the motor, tranny, front end and other parts if they need.

    Fuel cell is no good.

    Tires are dry

    No log books

I dont know how to add the pictures! Please help if you know how

    Default trailer

    re: jaweakley

The trailer is not included, but it can go with the car if the price is right.
I would be interested in selling trailer but only with the sale of the car.

like Ray said... Dad has our Gaspar in the garage yet. We've redone a bunch of it, but still have a bit to go.
And funny Brian mentioned the rear suspension. That's the first thing I noticed too.... Eugene put a D13 style setup on ours, I've never seen the original design until now. I like it.

Looks like a pretty good starter car for someone at a decent price. Where is the car located?

It's a mono shock, similar to the FC 96 VD, pretty cool.

That has to be Wayne Boyd's car from Rhode Island.

Gene did adapt sort of a D-13 dual shock suspension, but Wayne kept it "stock"

I have been trying to track that car down for years.

It did not like a bumpy track, but Wayne had some good luck at New Hampshire - but that was about 20 years ago.......

I think Eugene bought Serge's car and I raced against both quite a lot.

With a change in the rear suspension, it could be a good car.

Fred Gaspar biult a FF after this, but the FV was the better of the two cars.

Inquiring minds want to know - where is it currently?

    Re: FVRACER21

After looking closely by the cockpit I can see the glue from the stickers for the name.

    It does say Wayne Boyd!

From the photos it doesn't look like the Formula Vee I purchased from Fred Gasper in 1989. He raced it himself in the late 80's until he built a GT car for his son. I raced the car for 2-3 years and sold it. When I purchased the car from Fred it had out board shocks in the rear. See attached photo.
I had thought he made only one but I could be wrong.

interesting. did Fred make different versions?
our Gaspar has that yellow style body, which is way different than the blue one. plus the roll hoop looks different, and of course, Eugenes D13-style rear shocks on ours.

Most zero roll cars use a mono shock system... only one shock is used. So yes you can say it is a mono shock system but it has nothing in common with the VD other than the similar one shock location.

The system pictured uses a double rocker system on one assembly. One rocker for the shock/spring movement and one for the rotating action of the pushrods that accommodates chassis roll. This has been used before in FV.

The VD uses a shuttle system. The shuttle rotates around the mounting shaft for the shock/spring movement and 'slides' side to side to accommodate chassis roll. Only one car currently racing in FV uses this system at this time.
