    Default car lift

Is the lift home made or professionally manufactured? I've been looking for one of these and i'm curious about your experience with them.

The lift was professionally made and uses an electric winch to raise it and the sam winch pulls the car onto it.

As far as I know to import them into the US you just drive across the border and pay the duty at customs.

We brought an Alfa into the US from the GWN and it was pretty easy, although the boarder dudes had to look at the serial number first, then we paid the "duty" tax. (they accept credit cards)
Did it take all day and did we have to reenter Canada and drive to another crossing? Yes, but just because of the car's value. If it would've been a Pinto (or a pickup and trailer) we would've been on our way in minutes.

Thinking further...If it's newer than "X" year the vehicle has to meet certain EPA standards as well.

Would this rig need anything at all to be ready for a cross-continental trip home?

If the truck and trailer were manufactured in the USA it should be pretty easy to register it in the States.

Yes the truck and trailer are ready to go on a long trip. It easily passes the emission test required here every 2 years. Brake fluid just replaced. All kilometers are highway going to race tracks, last one was in june for the montreal F1 race. The trailer is built tough as the manufacturer made 18 wheeler trailers.

No it is not turbocharged and that is why it is so durable.
