MAKE SURE you clean out clean out the new intake manifold before installing on your motor. Some of the new manifolds are packed with casting sand that is not readily visible. If you fire up your new motor and manage to ingest a bit of the sand you won't be a happy camper

What Dennis did't say is that the sand tends to be up in the runners where you can't see it. We tried compressed air, power washer, solvent tank and finally a combination of bent aluminum welding rod and large bottle brush to get all the sand out. Project took half a day. If someone has a more effective / efficient way I'm sure every one would appreciate it.

    Dennis,
I don't know what the holes are for. We just plugged them with 10-32 screws.

The 2 tapped holes in the intake plenumn are to attach braces to help support the manifold to prevent breakage they are tapped to 6x1 mm.My feelings are I do not think they will be needed.
