Default Quick Jack Storage while Towing?

    All,

Polling the community on how you store your quick jack (example shown below) while traveling to/from an event. I've tried various methods (strapping to wall of trailer, storing lose under car, strapping down to floor), but none of them make it any easier to deal with this thing; it's just an awkward (but necessary) tool to lug around.

    Take care,

    Default Suv

I just take it apart and put on the floor of the SUV cargo area. When I had an enclosed trailer I hung it on two hooks and put a rubber bungee across it. Nothing clever.

With the enclosed trailer it goes under a shelf under the bench cross ways along with the handle.

Some stuff is stacked on top of it then.

With my open trailer I have tried strapping it to the trailer which is bothersome but it works. Lately I have just been stowing it in the cockpit of the car while towing. That seems to be the most convenient for me at the moment.

We have a spot in the trailer for virtually every part or tool except the (5) Quicklift jacks. They ride in the back of the pickup truck. Best place I have found for them!

I always arrive in the Citation, and by the time I get to the track the crew has unloaded. I'll have to ask Klaus how they are packed in the semi.

Lost it in the great recession. Sold it at a loss to Fast Matt M. he didn't want to fly commercial to the SEMA show in 2009.

    Default Thanks for the feedback...

Appreciate the feedback. I was hoping someone would have a trick method and/or storage idea for these quick jacks...like an in-floor between the frame rails compartment. Maybe I'll pursue that idea for my next trailer.

Nothing special, but it works. Small bungees are holding the handle in place.

That's way hi-tech. I went simple. I clamped a piece of PVC pipe to the wall, stuck a plug of foam in it and used the handle to push the foam to the floor. That's where the handle stays. Then I took one of the two-pronged metal shovel-hangers that Lowes sells, bent the prongs up at about an inch out from the wall, and mounted it where the jack just sits on a 1 x 3. No bungees, and has held up for years.

Talent usually ends up in front, but fun goes from the front of the grid all the way to the back.
