    Default Mrc-09 - sold

    MRC-09 Formula First
Original MRC Formula First. Built in 2009
    • Dry-sumped FST legal engine. Dave Carr rebuild August 2014. 2 weekend events and a one single day event since rebuild
    • Aim Gold3 data system (Wheel speed, Throttle, oil pressure, oil temp, head temp)
    • Odyssey Battery
    • On-board Battery tender
    • Oil tank heater
    • Penske rear shock
    • Advanced Suspension Front shocks
    • Cockpit adjustable brake bias
    • SS Roxanne headers
    • Lybarger FST legal transmission
    • Hard wired AMD transponder
    • Motorola P50 radios (2) +Crew headset (Car wired etc.)
    • FST legal Hoosier Slicks on Basset steel wheels- Single regional event on the tires
    • Willans 6 point harness w/ HANS compatible shoulder straps (good until after 2018)
    • 51 lbs of lead bolted in the car
    Spares
    • Set of used but not worn-out Hoosier rain tires on Basset steel wheels
    • One rear and one front used FST legal slicks mounted on Basset steel wheels
    • 2 frt pushrods, 2 rear pushrods, 2 steering links (no rod ends)
    • 1 Trailing arm (no rod end)
    • Additional Steering and single brake pressure sensor for the AIM system. The brake pressure sensor is plumbed in the car and ready to hook up but the channels are maxed out. You can easily swap it out for oil or head temp.
    • Faucet Electric fuel pump
    • 2 axel sets of brake pads
    • Misc. seals and gaskets
    • FST legal transmission rotor to rotor
    • Axel torqueing tool (“TorqueMiester”? modified for FST bolt pattern)
    • Alignment bar set-up
The car was thoroughly gone through over this past off-season. The previously 3-piece belly pan was replaced with a one piece .125 aluminum pan. Otherwise it was mainly touching up the paint on various parts and looking for any problems etc. The car was run at BIR over the Memorial Day weekend to make sure everything was OK and ready to go for the season. The radios mostly worked at BIR but we have been having intermittent problems with the crew hearing me over the last few races. They come with the car “as-is”. I suppose that is true for everything else on the car for that matter.

I weighed the car at BIR after a session. The car weighed 1140lb. with driver and gear (approx. 206 lb), 51 lb of lead and 2-1/2 gal of fuel. FST legal weight is 1125.

Attached photos were taken just prior to (no bodywork), or at the May 2015 BIR event. Not shown in the naked pics are the battery and fire system covers and the front push rods.

I am willing to help with transport but expect compensation for any expenses incurred.
Price for the car and the above listed spares- $9500

REALLY NICELY engineered, clean car. It's a steal at this price.

This is a really nice First. I've crewed on this car several times and its well done and easy to work on. Its nice that the car's design has several formula ford elements that arguably enhance chassis stiffness and driver safety over some of the cars that came from the Vee mindset.

Sad to see it for sale, but the one who buys this will get a well implemented and tended car!

With only a few exceptions (transmission and the headers- and the latter is spoken for at the moment) I am not going to sell off any of the spares at this point. If I were to race it again I am going to want the rains with me. It's a blast to drive in the rain!

I have sold the spare headers. Price adjusted to cover the sale and then some.

You too could fit comfortably in this car! You could be racing it at a FST Series race at Mid Ohio July 18-19 if you act now!

I only hope this thing makes it back to the Midwest or at least to a few of our FST sanctioned races. It is a thing of beauty and engineering. A combo that is difficult to achieve.
