    Default June Sprints!

So far we have the following entries:

    Beck
    Carter
    Cruz
    Lehr
    Marklein
    Mauney
    Mueller
    Muffler
    Opperman
    Rettich
    Zellers

Who else is coming? Since all the FE cars took the checker at Blackhawk, we know that nobody has to rebuild or buy a new car, so no excuses! If the entire BHF field shows up plus Eric Cruz (already registered), that's 13. Can we get to 15 or even more?

The great news is that we are grouped only with FF, so it's about as close to a single-class race as you can get.

should be a great field...and yes, being with the FF is awesome. That and we are group 3, so we will finally get out of there in the morning and not be the last to leave the track Sunday night.

For the Sprints we should have more like 20, but I'll take 11...

    Default Entry?

Keith, agree with you on the number of entries. Was just thinking about it and curious to get your guys thoughts. Been working this event as F&C for 20 years...this is probably one of the lowest entry counts for one week out that I can remember (for all classes). Plus, it's a key anniversary year...what gives?

Pro series pulled a lot of entries I'm sure from the SCCA for a lot of the other classes. I believe the ship has sailed and most will never return to SCCA events. Cost of racing in general and class dilution is another... Fortunately for FE, this is the healthy it's been in years.

    Up to 12 now.

I have heard from a few guys outside of CenDiv that they chose to go to Mid-Ohio this year instead of the Sprints, since the Run-Offs will be there in 2016.

While Pro has probably pulled some open-wheel guys out of SCCA, I wouldn't think that would impact the sedan classes, would it?

Unfortunately, I will not be making the sprints this season. Looks like I will be on a limited season this year again so I had to canceled my entry. Good luck to everyone attending, be safe and enjoy.

My next event will be the Blackhawk event.

    See you all there.

Final count looks like 13 - nice grid, with some very fast drivers/teams!

Now, let's hope for good weather...which of course depends on whether you like rain racing.....

Thanks Keith. I didn't have much danage. My front wing caught on the tire wall and cracked the front nose cone and I was stuck. I really wanted to get back in the race, but I was told to exit the car and get over the wall. Kind of disappointed because the car was fine and I could have continued.

That's repairable for sure. Contact Mike Beauchamp on this forum, he's relatively local and has fixed a few of our fc noses in the past.

Great racing in the mid-pack, guys! That was a fun event, even if the weather didn't fully cooperate.

Looking at Toms nose damage it seems like he could have continued, for future reference who's decision would this have been ? was it looked at carefully in the pit lane by an official ?

I think it was a misunderstanding with the corner worker. After I got stuck in the mud, the three FF cars all got together just down track from me. I am assuming the workers mistakenly thought I was involved with them. I was ordered to go to medical to get checked out, even though it was a minor bump of the wing into the tires. Later they inspected the car and said the damage was so minor they were not going to document it. I think I might have gotten hosed...

Here is the video of the FF incident:
