Sam,
There were a few Florida cars (no real details) that were being converted early on and we never heard much past that. Could be one of those "long term" projects that took 5 to 10 years. Originally, we allowed partial conversion (pre SCCA GCR rules).
Doesn't look that bad in the photos. It's currently at just under $2k, maybe somebody gets a very good buy?
Looked some more at the photos, not too fond of the shift protector

Not a bad car for the money and it may have a dry sump in it! Anyone know what
type of vee it started out before the conversion?
I don't know all the details, but I believe Mike Fultz, Bob Tupper and Dan Voss built three or four these and ran them in the MARRS series in the late 80's and 90's. They were reasonably successful when the MARRS FV's were very competitive. I have seen them for sale in different levels of completeness over the years and they seemed to be pretty stout chassis.

In looking at those photos, it doesn't look good for dry sump. The wheels look to be American Racing (like below) just painted black. It would not take very much effort to bolt on a BJ beam and install dry sump

Never made it past $3,500, so I'm guessing no sale.
Sent the seller a message

Here you go. Cant see how this wouldn't be a deal for someone. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/4476819782.html

for 2 grand somebody 0ught to pick it up
Interesting. I'm wondering if it really in Orange County CA? The map point on the craigslist ad just so happens to be less than a mile away from a FV racer who I just sent the link to.
However, all the pics are in FL and there is an Orange County Florida I believe. Perhaps somebody is a little Craigslist challenged?
Yes there IS an Orange county Fl. I don't live too far from where this car is located. If someone needs me to take a peek at it for them, I can do just that.
Either way, $2k for a complete running car (good or bad quality) is WAY cheap.

It is in California you know Disney Land
I replied to the ad and asked FL or CA.

Got an email from the new owner of the car. It is 100% in OC, CA. He bought it sight unseen from the guy in Florida, shipped it to OC, CA and then found out he doesn't fit in the car.
I emailed the guy back and suggested he come here (ApexSpeed) to try to sell the car. Will have much better luck here than Craigslist.

I also got a response from the seller and forwarded the ad to a guy hosting his annual Indy 500 / Monaco GP viewing party this weekend less than 1 mile from the car. That Indy 500 party typically has 30+ racers of all things air cooled, including a FV AdHoc member in attendance. I can't imagine somebody there not snagging it.
He asked to have his ad removed from this site because he's been bombarded with inquiries about the car ranging from really nice to extremely churlish from members of the site.
Behave people. Other than the pics being those from the original ad and not from the car now, it appears to be legit.
No examples or names. Churlish was his word...i had to consult the dictionary.
Ad does not work any more. Anyone know if it sold?
Based on post # 23 above, I would have to guess it is gone.
$2k for a running car? I'll bet it was gone before the end of May.

2k $ is sight unseen purchase territory.
Old thread... The new owner has contacted me and I have sold him some parts to finish up the car. It was never planned to be a Wheel to wheel race car. Either a Solo car or a track day car. Link pin beam, non dry sump, no GCR legal fuel cell. A good buy for what he wants to do with it. (track days) and it does have the potential for full conversion at some point.
Isn't this back on ebay now? Same price range. Looks like a nice car, but I am new to these.
