Default How do you access ApexSpeed?

I've used Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox for 15+ years and have always accessed my normal websites using their bookmarks facility. IE's Favorites is similar I believe.

    For this forum - Alt + B + R + F + A (for Bookmarks Racing Forums ApexSpeed)
Clickclickclick wait one second and I'm there.
Now after a software update that no longer works -
    - the list is still there but I have to fumble around accurately with the cursor - slow and error prone.

I actually have 391 Bookmarks - 20 or so in frequent use, another 30 or so say once a month, and the remainder just file copies for possible future reference. My fingers could do the 20 without using my brain - and quick too.

    What do others do -
    - type the URL in full or in part?
    - search on Google?
    - add a shortcut to the desktop?
    - other?

    Thx - Derek

PS Always willing to learn. Would love to go back to Windows XP - so simple and quick - no childish gimmicks.

I'm using IE and place my frequently access sites in the "Favorites Bar" category in Favorites.

They on the view menu I have show favorites bar on so that it's visible all the time.

I think Firefox/Chrome have the same options - you may just need to turn them on.....

If you visit the website often when you type the first letter into your address bar it will bring up the most visited/most recent website that starts with that letter. Then its just a drop down menu from there.

Default I keep my "Favorites" on the Toolbar...

This might work for you. Hope it makes sense.
When the toolbar fills, they cascade over the right side edge into a list.
Click on the at the >> to access.

I do the same thing. I start typing "Apex" and up comes the URL for apexspeed.com/forums. Hit return, and, like magic, I'm here!

    Thanks all so far.

I'm starting to use first letter in the URL line (address bar) as my normal but it's machine-controlled, not operator controlled which is anathema to me! For instance if I type "g" or "go" it brings up GordonKirby.com which I haven't looked at in years - but does not bring up Google at all and I use that frequently. Still one can get used to almost anything in time.

No one has mentioned my old method, all on the keyboard, of "alt + B + R + F + A" which is what I really miss - so quick, definitive and personal (ie. operator controlled). I still have my bookmark list but have to "cursor hunt" through it. If I used the toolbar there'd be 379 in the overflow!

Guess I've just got to go with the flow. If it goes on like this I'll be using an iPad soon!

    Thx

    Default Google Chrome Browser

"New Tab" page has recently and frequently used bookmarks, also I keep everything I often access on the web in the "other bookmarks" folder.
