Read Icons Issue

The little yellow icons that tell you that sub forums have a new post are not working properly anymore it seems?

If i read a post the icon should go out it no longer does.

If i double click on the icons they go out for about a day then return even if their isn't a new post.

Anybody else experiencing this?

I have tried multiple computers and browsers same issue.

Nothing has changed on the forums since a very minor update in March of 2014. Before that it was 2011. The forum software and behavior is the same it has been for a LONG time, as it is not really supported any longer by vB, even though there are a lot of major forum communities still using it.

If anything has changed, it may have done so through a browser update. Always best to clear browser cache and log in again to start clean with no previous cookies or broken cache files.

A tip, though, don't bother clicking on the post icons, as it really has no documented function within vBulletin. If it does anything, it's not really its intended use. Double-clicks on the web are rare and not really used for button controls all that often. If the lights are not shutting off when you read a thread, it's a browser issue, so a cache & cookie reset is a good place to start.

Under the Quick Links drop-down in the main header bar navigation, there is also a command to "Mark Forums Read" which is the best way to make sure that your regular forum cookie is reset every time you visit the site.
