I am looking into a new battery. Possibly a lithium.
I race a Vintage Vee with generator charging.
Wanting to know if anyone is running one.

The key is finding a lithium battery that can be charged from your generator. Most lithium batteries require special chargers. Essex racing carries a battery called the Aliant. It has an internal chip that controls charging and eliminates the cost and headache of charging a lithium. Haven't run one but plan to upgrade this year. Essex Racing 704-824-6030.

According to Ballistic no special charger is required, but using the correct one may extend battery life. They are often used in motorcycles with on board charging systems.

The EVO 8 cell weighs <2 pounds and is more than enough for a Vee without a charger.

Any of the modern Li setups are good. You need to 1) make sure you have a modern regulator/rectifier, and 2) balance the cells occasionally using an appropriate charger if the battery doesn't have an on board management systems.
