It all depends on the trailer.

Exactly. A light. Weight single axle can be towed easily with a Ranger. Check tow rating. Add tranny cooler if auto trans.

Yup.. A Vee is only 100lbs or so lighter than most other formula cars, so the difference is in how much junk you feel like taking to the track
I have a '91 Ranger, 6 cyl., with a manual trans. and it pulls the Vee with a fairly stout single axle trailer just fine. A trans. cooler is a must if you would go with a automatic.
It's not the car, it's the trailer. What kind of trailer are you going to pull? Weight?
I've seen a FV towed, on a small, very light trailer, by either a Jetta or Passat wagon. Cool to see the total VW theme carried out.

Having owned a bone stock '64 VW Bus, I can categorically, emphatically state that these will Not tow an FV (nor anything else) anywhere unless it's downhill, both ways. One of many vehicles I regret selling.
Fun to drive. Just not in a hurry.

I've towed a Vee on both a heavy-ish and light open trailer with my old 2005 GTI 1.8T. To Lime Rock, Nelson Ledges and NJMP from northeast PA. The transmission wasn't the happiest after towing through stop and go traffic in Philly after returning from NJMP, but that GTI is still going close to 100k miles later with the new owner.
Point is, pretty much anything can work.
Looks similar to what Ron Chuck uses to tow Skip Street's car. In fact he will be bringing the car to Laguna this week in one of those, but it does have an engines, he built in it.
That's a beautiful tow rig !
