Doug, what the heck? Is the shoulder not going to allow you to drive it again?

The short answer is no, at least not with a manual rack. The actual shoulder repair would hold but some of the ancillary repairs mean there is some questionable stuff in the left shoulder. The right shoulder has the same issue as the left, but it is stable and doesn't require surgery. I want to keep it that way. So no climbing the north face of the Eiger and no slaloming with out power steering amongst other things.

I did a quick search and found these really cool electric power steering kits that seem to be all the rage with ATV's for under $1000

For around a $1000 I saw kits for circle track cars, so the tech is out there... I would hate to see you sell the car when a solution is available.

Thanks for the encouragement. This isn't a decision we took lightly or quickly. We did consider a number of options including power steering. In the end this is the path we chose. First post updated to include items I had forgotten!

Having had rotator cuff surgery myself in January I can tell you that steering is not the issue for me as much as getting in and out of the car, and worst probably is pushing the car around and loading it on the trailer.

Looks like a beautiful car at a fair price.

I've seen the car a few times, and even sat in it once, so I can say with absolute certainty it *IS* a beautiful car at a fair price!

....still a little bummed about the sale though :-(

Not in Lincoln. It is going to a Cali road racer.

The transporter it left on housed a Formula Mazda, a 68 vette, a lotus seven, and a Riley & Scott Cadillac.

Excellent! So that was your Caterham? I couldn't see much of it (or anything else). All was covered up. I know that trailer is now full of Swift parts!
