    Default Bertil has passed

Long time VW engine master, Bertil Sollenskog has passed away. I don't have more to add, as the obit is in Swedish. He did a number of my Supervee engines, and was a interesting, helpful guy for me. Sorry to hear he has passed, and I offer the best to his family. Tom

    Default Thanks Bertil.......

I never met Bertil in person, but several years ago when I restored my Ralt RT 5 I called Bertil and asked for his advice on building my VW engine. He was already retired by then but he helped me on every step of the way. I am eternally grateful for his help and generosity. He was a great guy, and indicative of the type of guys that are in this sport.

    Thanks Bertil, and God speed..........

    Default SAD news indeed! :-(

This is very sad news indeed. When I met Bertill's in the late 80's running my RT5 in Nationals and the Pro series with a shoestring seat of the pants effort he was ALWAYS willing to help me with his AMAZING knowledge of the VW engine. He became a true friend, not just an engine builder. He was there to always help me and also my customers with his knowledge, parts and services. Bertill's was truly one of the special friends I made living my dream in racing!

Over the years I lost touch with his son Robert so if anyone here still has contact with his family please pass on my condolences on their loss of a very special man.

    GODS SPEED BERTILL!
