The Hoosier Tire US Formula 1000 Championship East will reach the halfway point this weekend during the legendary June Sprints at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin! Round 5 takes place Saturday afternoon and round 6 goes off on Sunday. Glenn Cooper has won three of the last four races but is in a tight points battle with the only other 2014 race winner, Jason Bell. Bell is pulling out all the stops this weekend, driving the 2012 championship-winning Citation recently acquired from JR Osborne. Alex Mayer is close behind in 3rd and has been making life difficult for Cooper on the track. Right behind him is Bell’s teammate Dore Chaponick. Richard Franklin and Jason Slahor sit in 5th and 6th place but aren’t expected to race at Road America so expect 7th place Jeremy Hill to advance in the points.
The entry list so far:
Mike Beauchamp (1999 Van Diemen), Green Bay, WI
Jason Bell (2010 Citation ), Tampa, FL
Dore Chaponick (2014 Stohr ), Lutz, FL
Glenn Cooper (2009 Firman ), Roswell, GA
