Make sure you don't ship it ocean freight (Google COGSA) $500 maximum liability if it gets lost or thrown overboard and if the ship has problems and they have to jettison other peoples' freight you'll get to pay for their loss through a shared responsiblity....Serious....not worth the risk.
BAX global (or similar) where you can ship it on an airbill and declare the value.
Eric,
Price might make it a non-starter. Some shippers insist that engines are hazardous. You'll need a good shipping crate similar to the one Jennings provides and a statement verifying the engine has been purged of all fluids and has been sealed. Check with Jeff Lunk at Fast Forwarding (630.741.0200). He specializes in race car transport and can act as broker. Make sure you agree with the buyer as to who is responsible for broker fees and duties. Of course, arrange a mutually safe form of payment.

We use e-shippers on a daily basis's with out any issues. They are price fair and handle it all.
Jeanne is very good to work with.

Eric,
Just curious. Did you ever ship the engine overseas? What was the cost?
Thanks,
