Just read in SportsCar that FE will make the switch from Mazda to Ford. Any discussions on Apexspeed about this? Page 39, lower right.
Same motor, just rebranding it.

That's a bummer. Did they say why the rebrand? I'm guessing maybe to be more aligned with the SRF so that SCCAE can be deemed a "Ford Shop", but I liked the backing to club racing that Mazda has shown (and the carrot of the contingency money they always seemed to provide). I haven't seen Ford do squat.

Keith, Mazda stopped the contingency money in FE. So Ford picked us up. Ford Racing is shelling out $$ for us now.

That's good that is simply a nameplate change, but how can that be if the Mazda-Ford partnership ended several years ago?
