Greg- you've let the cat out of the bag...revealed dark secrets...violated sacred trusts

I agree...I can't understand why there aren't any more ACC cars at these races. Wonderfully run, lots of track time, no FM's...

REALLY !!! we ACC cars NEED to support this cool deal BEFORE it goes away !!! .... if no one shows Im sure it will ...... I would go to all of them if I wasnt as poor as a church mouse ......but Im just one mouse .... we need 10+ such mouses..... Id rather do just a few of these events than 10-12 SCCA events ....... sorry folks SCCA is cool and all but the $$$/track time is 4-5 times better here ....A BETTER VALUE...... and you just might learn something too !!!! running with faster guys always has made me "step up" another GREAT benefit......
I just cant say enought good things ...... I guess if you really don't want to RACE ..... just drive around ......then maybe that would be a good reason to stay home...... I cant see any other ...... we were able to get a bit of sponsorship $$$ to be there but even if we didnt it was barely more than a typical SCCA weekend and we got 4+ times the track time AND as so aptly pointed out NO FM's .......and the zetec's were no issue ...they all conducted themselves like Pros.... I was never touched by anyone or passed "rude".... close at times but hey ...we are racing right?????

GET OUT THERE!!! Youll be happy you did ......only down side is you might just LUST for a Zetec after ....GREAT RACING !!!!

well now that I have had a day to digest the last week .......It was a monumental effort to get to Laguna Seca to compete with these guys.... It was worth it all !!! .... one of thre Best weekends(4 days) of racing I can remember in quite some time!!!
We were treated to over 4 hours of honest track time with a GREAT group of guys every one was on the ball on and off the track .....and ALL FF2000 cars it was GREAT !!!

what I cant understand is why there were only 2 of us ACC cars there???? I know of some 30 ACC Legal cars near enough to be able to make the event with only a modest drive

The event was AWESOME from every perspective ... from the catered lunches every day to the 4+ hours of dedicated track time. Every aspect was top notch!! We got to each have one of the coveted Garages for the entire event !! John Anderson was masterfull in directing the event ......Michelle was a delight... Beau Barfeild and everyone else involved were easy to work with and extremely helpfull.....to make a long story short ... all you guys with ACC legal or Zetec Cars that did not make it for what ever reason to Laguna Seca do yourself a favor and make the effort to be a part of the ALMS Sears Point (opps Infineon Raceway) Event on July 18th
If you like lots of track time and good even competition and want to learn just how fast you can go...... BE THERE !!!! it will be a great experience for you and your teams !!!

Winning the 2nd race was just the icing on the cake....A special THANKS to Robert Wilson my good friend and crew chief who keeps the car all together YOU make my job alot easier !! It was also a pleasure to finally meet Rob Howden of Formula Car magazine....

In case it isn't appearent .....Im still smiling about being there and being part of the event!!! ....And I'm looking forward to July !!! Just hope Im not the only one that will be there to enjoy it all !!!!....... all you west coast guys make your plans now!!!

Greg, why don't you run with the See Ya group. In your race there where two cars. With us you race against 20!! We will be at Portland June 4-6, come out and play. Maybe take home $800 for top 10.

Tom Im glad you pointed that out ... I DO plan on running with you folks in Portland .....I did have plans to run with you all at Fontana unfoutunatley I lost my job that week and had to gather funds to run again.....I did have plans to run in Phoenix and Las Vegas as well ...just no funds ......it was a REAL stretch to run Laguna Seca ...very glad we did (we should be able to run in portland ...... AND I plan on a top 10) .....

granted there were only 2 ACC cars but by Sun the car and I were pretty dialed I suspect we probably would have won if there were 12 cars..... really wish there had been ....and I STILL dont know why there werent ?????!!!

My intent here in NOT to knock The "seeya series" AT ALL ...the Laguna Seca race just fit the budget/time frame I had ...... the others did not ....all that said..... anyone who knows me at all KNOWS if there is a race to run and I can be there ...IM THERE!!!! ...... if there was a race every weekend and I had the slimest of budget to be there I would ......sleep in the truck shower at the track ...... eat PB and J all weekend..... use old tires...... what ever ....

hope(no pun intended)to "see ya" all up in Portland and do yourself a favor and run in July at Sears Point .......the rose cup is the next weekend after the "seeya" race do that as well

Tom, in case you didnt know the "Seeya" idea was hatched at Phoenix at the double nationals 3 years ago in Johnny's trailer ...one present was yours truely .... it took awhile.....but it is a good thing it came to be ..... too bad for me I cant run every weekend if I could I would ........working on a TV deal ...but thats top secret for now ....

seeya soon I hope

Even the crew gets to eat during the catered lunches each day with the Cooper Tires Championship Series!

I nearly fell out of my chair when the Cooper series official walked through the garages to each team letting us know - "lunch is served".

Later, I heard that our crew chief (car #49 - The Pizzo Special) Robert Wilson was seen dining on some posh dessert pre-race on Sunday!

And cripe, everyone dreams of a real podium victory lane celebration w/ interviews, cameras and champagne! The icing on the Cooper tire cake.

Greg and David

Since we Pinto guys have lost both Les and Mark to the dark Zetec side, we need your support.

If it would help, we would be happy to have you come by and share our catering in Portland. Crispy Cream and Subway might not be quite what Baytos offers, but the price is right. (as an alternative, you could get Doug Dacosta to slip some of the PR1 chow to you)

we may just take you up on that .....but isit still good if we have a Zetec by then ??? I think both series have a place ..... if my budget allowed I do all of both .... I hope we can get a few $$$ help and do more of either of these races Dave is one of my crew guys all are voulunteer and GREATLY appreiceiated !!! without them it would be next to impossible to do any of this stuff... I really hope to be at the portland race ...... BUT by all means all you west coast guys show up for the Sears Point ALMS event on july 15-18th !!!! really youll be glad you did !!! if for no reason but to have another race w/o FM's ...... both have been a while comming as many as can please support BOTH !!! so they dont go away ..... like I said Im just one mouse the more the better !!!

last I heard Doug Dacosta was beeing lured tothe dark side too..... they are just such cool cars !!!! its hard not to make the switch !!!

it woudlk be great to have 12-14 pinto powered ACC cars at sears point!! the cars are out there !!!

JR, As Bobby Rahal recently said: I go where our sponsors tell us to go. Its simply a business decision.

But, my emotional decision making process is greatly influenced by those sugary delights - oh Krispy Kreme.

So back to racing -

I will personally pay $25 dollars to each ACC car that races at the Cooper Tires Championship race during the ALMS weekend at Infineon Raceway July 15th-18th!

I would consider running the Sears race, as pro weekends are really fun, but to do so I have spend $750 to register for the series to run one race. Seems like that is a bit steep for a single race. I will probably just come out to watch.

John,

The series fee is only if you want to earn points for the ACC championship... otherwise its just the entry fee for the event ($600 at the Laguna Cooper Tires Pro event) and you can't run for the championship - which is a mute point if you are only doing a 1 off Pro weekend.

Give it some thought. You are close right in Los Gatos?

I am planning to run May 22nd at Laguna. I may well run the race at Sears. My problem now is not money it is time... I have been to the UK four times so far this year and I am off again on Monday. I have run Portland before, but I can't afford the time to get there. Had I been aware of the race at Laguna last week, I probably would have been there. See you at the track soon.
