AIKEN RACING TO CONTEST ZETEC CHAMPIONSHIP

SCCA CLUB CHAMPION TEAM TURNS PRO

ATLANTA, GA – (December 16, 2003) – Aiken Racing has announced that it will step up to the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, part of the Cooper Tires Championship Series, with a full-time two car team for 2004.

Atlanta, GA based Aiken Racing has been competing for several years in SCCA regional and national competition as well as select Zetec Championship races. Aiken Racing President Marshall Aiken won the 2001 South Atlantic Road Racing Championship, Southeast Invitational Championship in the Club Continental class collecting numerous wins and track records.

Aiken Racing is fully equipped for the 2004 season, including having the car used by Bryan Seller’s to dominate the series in 2002. Marshall Aiken will drive one of the team cars and is seeking a qualified driver for the partially funded second car. The team will be supported by Zetec series veteran and front runner Andy Brumbaugh who will take on a different role from his normal spot as team driver.

Widely regarded as North America’s premier open-wheel training series, the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, part of the Cooper Tires Championship Series, offers a complete motorsports education, with emphasis on cost-effective professional racing. All the Zetec Championship cars are powered by the technically advanced 2.0-liter Ford Focus power plant and run on spec Cooper Zeon UHP tires. The 2004 schedule will be announced shortly and will feature races on North America’s premier racetracks.
