Default F1200 to hold Canadian 50th FV celebration July 27/28

    http://formula1200.com/uncategorized...ees-50th-year/

This year, the F1200 series and BARC will be hosting the Vallis Cup, and celebration of the 50th year of Formula Vee on the July 27/28 weekend at CTMP (Mosport), Canadian style. F1200 and BARC are strongly urging for out of province, non F1200 drivers to join us for the event. These non F1200 drivers will get a special rate of 50% off of driver entry for the race weekend.

We encourage (but do not require) any drivers making the trip to conform to F1200 rules. To be eligible for the Vallis Cup, the car must be F1200 legal. Changes that are required would be F1200 spec wheels/tires, and F1200 legal intake manifolds. I have previously mentioned in the past that a certain amount of wheels/tires would be available for loan. We will be able to assist with intake manifolds as well to a point. This will be on a first come, first serve basis. If we run out, there are other racers/teams who I will be able to re-direct you to.

For any further information or clarification on the event, please feel free to PM me, or email sviccary@avrmotorsports.com

    Chris, email replied

The intake manifold specifications can be found here, section 5.2.j) on page 8:
    http://www.casc.on.ca/sites/default/...rmula_1200.pdf

There are a number of extra sets of wheels/tires around the series which are available for loan. If anyone wants to buy wheels/tires, the wheels can be purchased new for $95 each. The series orders them as a batch order every few years when they are needed. There are lots left still. Best place to get tires is through Vulcan Tire, Falken AZENIS RT-615K 195/60R14. They sell for $336/set +tax/shipping. They will last you at least two seasons (6 weekends, up to 10 sessions per weekend).

Default what about an FV class?

    Shane--
I don't know if I can make it... I'd love to. Mosport is my favorite track in the northeast.

We used to run FV/F1200 together back when SCCA made the trip to Mosport, back before the runoffs moved earlier eliminating labor day nationals...

It might be easier for us to bring our tires & keep our manifolds and still come and play.
Is there any sense in that? I guess it depends how many SCCA cars want to go...

    Anyone else?

    Mark,
I completely understand where you are coming from. There is not a huge setup difference between the slicks and our radials. The only real "inconvenience" would be to change out the manifold and make sure it's still legal. We (AVR) also have a few extra manifolds that are good and legal for us which would could divvy out. That would be first come first serve though, as there are only a few to go around.

That being said, we would be more than happy to welcome someone up to run with us while SCCA legal.

There is nothing trick about the F1200 inlet manifold. Basically the F1200 rules preclude the swelled sections on the bends. Thus most of the inlet manifolds still used at Regional level will conform to the F1200 regulations. All you have to do is dust off that manifold you were using five years ago and you’re kosher.

Reminder that the Canadian version of the 50th Vee Celebration and the Vallis Cup are coming up in a month's time. I will post the link when registration is available. Any questions, or request for tires or intake manifold, please let me know asap as we only have limited numbers extra.

Should just allow SCCA spec cars to run as they are within the group as a separate race. I know that may have made me visit Mosport again as its a fantastic track.

    Mark,
I mentioned before that we would welcome SCCA spec cars into the race without a concern. The change to F1200 spec is an encouragement, but not required. Anyone within SCCA FV, Monoposto, or F1200 rules set is welcome to race on our grid.

    Default Tires/intake manifold

Would like to know how many sets of radial tires are needed for the up coming event for the competitors coming from south of the border.

Please message me or Desmond Ennis (fvhopeful) asap if you would like to borrow a set for this weekend.

FYI, for all US drivers making the trip up, when registering online, make sure to choose the payment option to pay at the track. There is no option for 50% off online.

Don't be deceived by the numbers on motorsportreg! There are 8 or 9 regulars that have not registered yet. I would still fully expect a 20+ car field.

Schedule can be found at the following link:
    http://www.casc.on.ca/sites/default/...27-28_2013.pdf

Note that no other cars are on the track with F1200

    Shane,
I had a development arise just yesterday that is going to require all my energies and time for the next three weeks and so will sadly not be able to attend.
I appreciate your help with offering the tires, and maybe I can get up there next year.
Greg, I know you'll probably sleep easier tonight knowing your money is safe!
Hope you guys have a great event and that some more of you will also consider doing some of the Autumn Challenge Cup races we are organizing.

    Shane,

I'm also not going to make it since I had to put a large amount of money into
my Jeep for repairs. I appreciate your offer and wish you and everyone else
    good luck next weekend!

I'm just disappointed that more SCCA racers won't experience racing with 20 other cars, probably separated into two or three packs. No one even knows how to whine about tires
