Are arm restraints subject to the same replacement policy as belts (the five year rule)?

    What is your favorite brand?

    LIFE:
Would suggest you read the thread titled " Safety Harness - Change of Life ".

Unless you have FIA approved belts, harness life is now 2 years. If you have FIA certified belts, life is in question to this day. It should be 5 but may be 2 too.

Arm restraint life may be 1 year due to high corrosion environment of some drivers arm pits. SFI and FIA have not established a clear testing criteria as of this date.

    General Guidelines from Kansas.
If they are chafed, or broken, replace them. If they stink, tech won't look at them and you are DQ'd .

The GCR shows no replacement interval on arm restraints.
