    Is it legal to alter or add an adjuster to the cam gear?Maby a dumb question but though I'd ask.

    In a word: No

    The rules (2002 GCR/FCS section 17.1.6.B.4.d.1) states:

    The camshaft and rockers shall remain entirely unmodified; ... Offset keys are permitted.

    This is the only method of changing the cam timing that is permitted. Other drive pulleys on the motor can be changed, but the Cam Pulley is not included in the list.
