The weekend brought lots of good news.

Rob Howden is adding two FormulaCar magazine subscriptions to the Road America prize drawing. This new publication is getting great reviews and is quite a nice prize for some lucky FF1600 racer.

Not to be outdone, Joe Marcinski from Moroso Performance Products is offering two sets of custom made sleeved and numbered Moroso Ultra 40 ignition wire sets. Joe will work with the winners to configure the wires to their exact specifications.

Since we all win with 40 or more cars, I've added these four new prizes to the "short" end of the list. Here are all the prizes:

    26, FormulaCar magazine, subscription
    27, FormulaCar magazine, subscription
28, Moroso Performance Products, ignition wires
29, Moroso Performance Products, ignition wires
    30, OPEC, decals (2)
31, Steve Beeler, Mk9 gear change checklist
32, DRE, Steve Nickless FF book
    33, Hoosier, very large banner
34, Xerox, Club Ford article from July '86 SportsCar
35, Juan Montoya, June 5, 2003 issue of AUTOSPORT
36, Jacques Villeneuve, 1996 Indy 500 ticket stub
37, Shelter Systems, $50 merchandise certificate
    38, Racing Flow Development, $100 shop/labor credit
    39, Andresen Engine Development, $100 shop/labor credit

The entry list keeps growing and is now up to 17 cars. As of Monday evening August 4, the following drivers have confirmed their entries:

Tom Tipsword, Van Diemen RF81, CFF, E
    Joe Marcinski, ADF, CFF, E
Dan Faust, Van Diemen RF93, FF, E
Ron Tebo, Van Diemen RF78, FF, E
Marc Blanc, Crossle 35F, CFF, W
Rick Roellig, Tiga FFA-79, CFF, W
Mike Weyna, Van Diemen RF78, CFF, W
    Mike Maienza, Vector, FF, W
Andy Graff, Van Diemen RF97, FF, W
Kevin Krauss, Tiga FFA-78, CFF, W
Wes Allen, Merlyn Mk25, CFF, E
    Bruce Drenth, Eagle, CFF, W
Curt Rehder, Lola T-440, CFF, W
Mark Kolell, Van Diemen RF85, FF, W
Mark Blythe, Reynard 82F, FF, E
Jim Roberts, Swift DB-1, FF, W

We are already a over 40% of the way towards our goal of 40 cars. Help find the cure for Chicagophobia. Enter early, enter often.

If you need an entry form, Linda Breitenbach is the chief registrar. Linda can be contacted at (773)774-8602 or lbreitenbach@scown.com The entry form can also be downloaded from the Chicago Region website: http://www.scca-chicago.com

The postmark deadline entries is today, Monday August 4. If you are not sure you can make the race, e-mail the registrar with your timing and scoring info. The regions don't try to make money with the late fees. The idea is to discourage too many walkups as it is a pain for timing and scoring to set everyone up Friday night.

I'll do what I can to get late fees waived but there are no promises. If the registrar does not have your T&S info, no chance.

All this plus single race groups for FF/CFF plus lots of seat time on one of the world's best circuits plus Bruce Linstrand's tech talk plus Luxon Printing's fabulous EWC photo gallery posters equals a must weekend of FF1600 racing.

    Be there.

    More good news.

The Road America prize drawing continues to grow. Prizes begin with only 23 starters.

Bruce Kilcoyne from Schulz Automotive Machine is donating a set of FF1600 valves plus $50 shop labor credit. Bruce, as a point of interest, builds Marc Blanc's EWC CFF championship motors.

Schulz Automotive CARQUEST Auto Parts is offering two cases of Valvoline 5W30 motor oil. Many thanks to Marc Blanc for these two prizes.

Also, John and Bill Luxon (both in Piper DF-2s) have been confirmed by a reliable source. The early entry list is now up to 19 cars.
