Us formula 1000 east & west announce sunoco hard charger pri
Fremont, Ca/ Green Bay, WI (February 28, 2013) – Sunoco Race Fuels has joined the US Formula 1000 Championship in 2013 and will be backing the Sunoco Hard Charger Award. The Sunoco Hard Charger Award will be a cash prize that will be paid at every race on the 2013 schedule. Over the first five weekends and first ten races, the driver that advances the most positions from his official qualifying position to his official race finish position will win $150 per race. A grand total of $2700 will be paid out during the regular season. At the season-ending Runoffs at Road America, Sunoco will sweeten the pot even more. During the 2013 finale, the Sunoco Hard Charger will win $500!
Qualifying position will not include any penalties or tardiness to the grid. Finishing position WILL include any penalties or DQs.

About US Formula 1000 Championship
The US Formula 1000 Championship is comprised of three separate championships within one series run within the SCCA National program. Drivers compete in either the US Formula 1000 East or the US Formula 1000 West Championship. Those drivers are also eligible to compete for the overall US Formula 1000 Champion. US Formula 1000 cars are purpose-built high-performance Formula 1000 race cars and Formula 2000 converted race cars powered by 1000cc motorcycle engines, with top speeds in excess of 150 MPH.
