Would think long and hard if the cost of fuel for me was not so much to get there.

At what I am earning now, every penny counts.

Heck, I have not had new tires in 3 years and before that bought at least 2 new sets a year.

The IT Spectacular is simply a fantastic race that I love being part of.

    Steve,
As it is apparent you will not be doing the IT Spec race weekend and as the entry for the Waterford Hills GLC is less then any SCCA race, you can afford to make the drive up.

I know Todd, just wnated to beg one more time.

Given my budget constraints this year particularly, Grattan, Gingerman are simply too big a gas bill for me to deal with.

And the additional time off work doesn't help matters anyway.

But thanks for responding again for about the fourteenth time.

    Default Weigh in

Man it just keeps getting worse for FC and
CFC. I was planning in going to this race.. As
    I was the recent national.
If we run the pro race do we have to pay
The F2000 $900 driver fee for one race?
And the F2000 series race fees or the Scca
Regional fees? I have the Hoosier tires.
What is wrong with putting ff , cff, cfc, and
    Fc in wings and things?
This is very discriminating and totally
Wrong . That is like asking IT cars to enter
A frigging pro race with Grand Am or ALMS
And paying the entry and licensing fees
    For a pro event.
Just say no! Isn't this club (Scca) a member
Run organization? This is total BS, and
To pull this at a regional is crap!

    Default Weighing in

Steve, I appreciate your pleas and
    I agree totally.
I believe the issue is dollars and the
Pro guys bring it , we don't bring
    Enough.
    FYI , I gave a great '96 VD FC I will
Trade for a FM or other legal car, lots of
    Spares set up sheets,
    Thanks, Man
This is the same reasoning that keeps
Indy region from having a race track. Putnam
Park is close and stinking thinking keeps
    Indy region race less .

    John,

I'm sorry you feel that the Cincinnati Region is discriminating against your class. We feel the opposite is still true. By giving FC and CFC as well as FF and CFF a chance to run in exclusive race groups over three days. "Pro" drivers for the most part are National SCCA drivers looking to step up to the next level. You and others in your class participated against some of those drivers in the OVR/Cincy Dbl. National and I didn't hear any complaints about that. I did hear about split starts, and split grids because of all the sports racers. This is exactly what you would be encountering with this race if we didn't have the thought." Gee wiz why don't we invite FC, CFC, FF and CFF to run with a class of their own." Boy are those guys going to be happy. So happy they will thank us for being so thoughtful in an age when mixed classes are causing havoc.

And as far as the cost. I cannot vouch for a $900 driver fee. The entry fee is exclusively Pro F2000 or F1600. Mike Rand can be contacted at formularacepromotions@gmail.com if you would like to ask him about it.

    Default Thanks

I did talk with Mike Rand, the entry
    is $995 .
I have run with a lot of the pro guys
    before.
I realize it is a restricted race. Costs
    are a major concern. I certainly don't
want to be in a position to cause any
problems for the pro guys who are spending
A lot of money trying to win a championship.
I appreciate your response and hope you
    Understand our frustration.
We run regionals to get seat time and
Have fun with like minded folks.
This track is closer then some and
The alternative race that weekend at
    Gateway has been canceled .
IT being a regional class , it seems other
Regional only classes would be involved.
I respect in our country we can agree to
Disagree. I appreciate your hard work
To stage this race and as always in every
Decision there are some that are not
Served. I believe Greg Rice said it best.
    In his previous post.
I don't feel you are against fc, Cfc, ff, or
Cff, Fv, f5, FST, or f6. We just wanted
To be able to race in this regional.
Thanks for your candid response and
On my part there is no animosity .
It just is hard to see Fa, csr, dsr,Asr, s2 , fm
, fe all have a race group and be left out.
    Good luck and stay safe!

    Johnny,

I appreciate your latest post. As a member of Indy region you know first hand the struggles that we are facing as a club to maintain a viable racing program. St. Louis Regions cancellation illustrates a fact that after four or five very trying years many regions have depleted their cash reserves built up during the good times and are now operating on the edge. I understand your frustration in not being invited to run with our club race group, but I also hope you understand that sponsors and affiliation with Pro groups such as the F2000 & F1600 are what has to be done to survive in the hopes of better times to come.

May the rest of your racing season be safe and successful.

    Todd,

Since the entries in Group 6 are rather low at this point, any possibility of reconsidering the previous decisions?

In years past, you could enter in a higher class. F2000s have run as FA in the past.

Would it be possible to run as an FA with a Citation F2000 1990 model?

I just sent a e-mail to Todd asking if they'd consider adding FS to the mix so you guys could dual-homologate whatever you wanted (FV with wings!). We did that for years at the ARRC and it worked out pretty well.

    Butch,

Thanks for the suggestion. As a fellow race chair you know how difficult it is to make additions to the supps. once a sanction number has been issued. It takes the cooperation of the Chief Steward and the COM. I had the discussion of adding the classes Mr. Demeter is so passionate about to the club race group made up of FA, FB, FE, FM, S2000, CSR, DSR once before. The Chief Steward had concerns on several items and I agreed with him. I will check on the FS issue but cannot guarantee a thing.

The Chief steward and SOM for the I.T.SPEC*tacular will be together at another event and will discuss the possibility of running FS. I will know the answer on Monday July 9th. I'll let everyone know as soon as I know.

Default Why not CFF and CFC

    I appreciate the thoughts Todd.

And the patient listening to my whining.

Does anyone know if that will allow enough time to get FS homologation, and enter the race in time to avoid the late fee?

Would be pushing our luck a bit to do it all in 18 days from kbnowing to opening of registration.

This could be a win for evryone if CFC and CFF were simply allowed to run.

Region would make some more $ and there would be plenty of time to get everything done.

Thanks in advance for all your efforts Todd.

There is no late fee if registering and paying online up till the close of registration July 24th. We can work things out if you let me know in advance that you won't be registering until race day.

Since nothing has been posted by Todd regarding the meeting between Pat and the SOM's last weekend, one has to assume that there will be no changes to the classes invited to participate in this event.

My best wishes for a successful event go out to the Cincinnati Region.

Default FS for anyone who wants to dual homologate

One of the finest guys in Club Racing and the head honcho of the time trials / PDX / Club trials programs, Jerry Cabe, informed me last night via e mail that FS has the green light for the race. Not on Motorsports Reg as of a few minutes ago.

So anyone who wnats to scramble through the homologation process and spend the bucks to do so can run in the race.

Cheers and good luck to all.

And good luck to Cicny Region on getting more entries: as of right now Motorsport Reg shows about 57 for the various club trials type groups, 92 for the regional with 3 in group 6. And one of those guys is shaky on whether or not he will have to cancel.

I would hate to see Cincy Region lose money on this great event and not hold it next year.

Default 2013 GLDiv Schedule - More Restricted Regionals

    Steve,
Have you seen the Tentative 2013 race schedule for GLDiv? Looks like deja vu all over again. Restricted Regionals at M-O in June and August; first M-O unrestricted regional is the traditional Labor Day weekend. I wonder which classes will be the Chosen Ones. I'm guessing not CFC, you being such a trouble-maker and all.

    Default CFC drivers, speak up

I am told that the classes to be invited has not been a topic of discussion with Cincy region YET

NOW is the time to start talking this great event up and get our classes invited.

How Many CFC's besides myself would show up???

Apparently the Cincy region has again chosen not to invite FF, CFF, FC, and CFc to tthis great race.

Now is the time to speak up and try to convince the region that we would turn out in good numbers.

Jerry Cabe is the Race Chair and I know him to be an upstanding and generally all around guy.

So if you want to run this great event now is the time to start campaigning.

    Steve,

Just to add to your list they have not invited FV and FST as well, it seems small formula cars are not part of our Cincy region's master plan for club racing. It would be very nice to join in our regions premier event if we were only invited.

I quit going to the meetings several years ago when the fst group was exempted from the door slammers event.I considered changing my region, but decided I wouldn't go to the meetings because of the distance involved.I really have nothing positive to say about the cincy region.Sounds like sour grapes, and it is.I wish there was another sanctioning body with a decent fst car count.

Still time to ask the race chair Jerry Cabe (Who is BTW a really neat guy, GLDIV pointskeeper and GLDIV time trials steward) to include us in the 2013 event.

If we wanna run with them gonna take a lot of people showing definite interest to insure that there will be a good enough car count to make a group for us.
