    Default optional sensor install

    Hi All
I am in the process of installing the optional sensors on my 99 VD honda. The pictures i have are not very good as to the install location of the oil pressure, oil temp sensors, and how the wires are routed on top. Any pics anyone might have would be great.

    Thanks All

Here's how I did the oil pressure. Note that using the plenum removes the adapter that creates about a 3.5" cantilever for the sensor but does require a special metric to -4 adapter to tap into the port on the block. It also allows use of the oil pressure sensor and the original oil pressure switch for the dash, in a belt and suspenders kind of way. The oil temp goes into the HPD oil pan just below the inlet line to the oil pump on the right hand side.

I believe that the oil temp harness in the VD kit is wired to plug in on the left hand side of the oil tank module in the block off plate for the oil suction line. Not the right place in my opinion, but I believe that is what HPD specifies.

The oil temp sensor goes on the right front of the pan just below the oil inlet fitting.

Also,as noted in that thread, before plugging in the Aux harness into the main harness, make sure the locking ring is full retracted. If not retracted, the connector goes together anyway, but the lock tabs get broken.
