I have heard good things about the 1dx. I have a t2i want to buy a 7d but granted I am a broke college kid, so I'll be spending my money on good glass first.

Buying the 1Dx was a HUGE deal for me to decide ...but very glad I did ! I had borrowed a 1Dmk4 from Canon a couple times although it was better than the 1Dmk3 it was not like WOW !! .... as expensive as this body was .......and it was !....I'm here to say it is WORTH EVERY PENNY !!! ... everything else is a butter knife compared to this scalpel
All that aside it depends a lot what you are trying to do with it ! good glass ALWAYS helps! The 6D may be a good compromise for you...very good sensor !

#01 ESM Ferrari... Great shot at night but I'm slightly partisan...my brother, Leigh Pettipas, is the lead engineer and called the strategy that sealed the win... a dominant car and a loaner Ferrari factory driver didn't hurt their chances either

Great pictures. Night photos are always good when taken at the Turn 10 complex.

That is where I normally flag. Was supposed to flag this year but the money for a plane ticket is used up dealing with all this bs from a guy hitting my car.

Are you going to be posting your pictures on a website? Also if you have decent photos of/with the marshals let me know. I know so many of them there and i know they love to see some good ones of them. Plus good marshaling pics are something I am looking for to work on my little article / book I am wanting to write.

Thanks.

Greg, what were you doing in GA? Did you come just to take pictures of Petit? That's a long trip. :-). Nice pictures.

I went Thurs - Friday and one of the highlights was seeing Rosella and Phil in the Rebellion pits, and even more so later when they got the pole. It was a dramatic final few minutes as Dyson tried hard to take it away. There were a lot of high fives.

I didn't see them after the race but I'll bet it was a fun place. Winning the Petit overall is pretty dang up there in accomplishments.

It was also cool to see Ben Cooper working on one of the other prototype teams (luckily not too busy - Ben does their composite work and they hadn't been crashing much. :-).

Yes I went just to see the event .. and take pix ... and talk to a few folks there ...
saw Ben during the race (just before the first crash) first one wasn't so bad ... but the second was a lot worse ...the Dempsey P1 car ... I guess Ben will have some work NOW !!

enjoyed talking to Ben !
I was Impressed with Patrick's demeanor during all this too very calm throughout
the whole ordeal ...

GREAT event !!

and thanks for the kind words ..... many more pix to come in the next few days !

take a look on Instagram too ... during the next week ..... if you do that sort of thing ....
