Default NJMP rounds 7 and 8

We are loading up in preparation for the largest event Formula Race Productions (Rand and Company) has ever held. F2000, F1600, and Atlantics all converge on beautiful Millville New Jersey June 28th.
I noticed Monty has posted the entry lists out on the respective sites. With 34 F2000 entries we will have 33 guys trying to give Series leader Robert Larocca a run for his money. Not hard to imagine that Ander's 2008 record will fall.

We have entries from near and far, such exotic locales as Venzuela, Nova Scotia, Bermuda, Jamaica, and Vermont. Looking over the list, i see John LaRue returning after his misfortune at Atlanta. DaveW is back after escorting Sherrie around Alaska. LaRocca should have some great stories after his drive at Spa. Team Wisko has rapidly expanded from one to three cars, adding Paul Alspach and Jason Rabe to their entry alongside Kevin Kopp. It appears Kyle Connery has entered his RFR. It's great to see Jesse Yorio returning in one of the Momentum Motorsports cars. Group A racing has entered Collin Daley in one of their VDs.

This will be our third trip to NJMP, yet in all previous trip we have always stayed at the track, so i have yet to check out the possible dining venues around Millville, so suggestions are welcome. I do know Atlantic City and Cape May are about an hour away as is Philly.

For entertainment, i see there is a scheduled Atlantic Summit Meeting scheduled for 5:00 pm Saturday afternoon.

Also, Apexspeed's own Josh will hold an autograph session in the paddock Friday morning. Bring your Justin Beeber and/or Kate Upton posters.

We can always expect a pre-race flyover provided by Air Fat Boys.

On a serious note, Rand sent out an email to entrants a few days ago about parking. We will not be parking rigs on pavement, so bring preparations for grass/dirt paddocking. (should be better than VIR)

Sorry to say I won't be there, but my fans will have the full ticket price refunded, including the 117% Ticketmaster surcharge.

Thanks for the update. I'll have Rand cancel the rental of the crowd control barriers.

Robert LaRocca has been leveraging his recent F2000 success and is currently in a British Formula 3 car at Spa Francorchamps this weekend

Doing the Duck Duck Go thing, i found 151 restuarants in Vineland, and 74 in Millville. No surprise, lots of Italian.

The artsy fartsy downtown district in Millville will be like a magnet for Janice.

Luckily there are many restuarants within a few blocks.

    These two caught my eye:

(more suited to a Fat Boy spirited gathering, me thinks.)

Of course, for those that like the predictability of chains, there is a Longhorn Steak House, and a Texas Roadhouse, and my favorite... Moes (Joey bag o' donuts).

    Any experiences out there?

Default Crew wanted for F2KCS at NJMP 6/28 thru 7/1

See my crew-wanted post in the General Classifieds > Crew Wanted and Available Section.

Since our planned crew had to cancel, we would like someone to assist us at NJMP.

    Thanks,
    Dave Weitzenhof

    Default I reccomend Winfield's

The group I run with is at NJMP 5 times this season, and every event we always go to Winfields on Fri night. I have always enjoyed meals there and while some may say they are pricey(although not by NJ-NY Metro area standards) it is nice to treat ourselves and get away from the track and grilling at least once. They always have fresh, seasonal specials with my favorite being their homemade Gnocchi and Calamari . Across the street (High street,I believe) is a really nice Irish pub too!!

Some photos from today. It is so hot that the heat waves off the ground are actually distorting our photos. Top that off with the fact that the track is unbelievably difficult to work with and it's a photographer's worst nightmare

You can see the heat here, and this was one of the "best" head on shots we got all day. Anything that is covering a large distance from lens to car is getting all jacked up

A truly tragic loss of some fine shelter...aside from the dead canopies I hope everyone's equipment is mostly safe and that the schedule can resume shortly

Just spoke with TJ, he said there is a report that a tornado passed through last night. No injuries that he knew of. Also, no power at the track when they arrived and the schedule was being delayed.
