tell me about it Brenden. go to NJ and stir the pot or hang out in the air conditioning and just chill. Normally a no brainer for me but the entire 99 degree non sense is giving second thoughts.

Come on Kevin, I was hoping you would be giving a report on the Baytos creation.

My jetski is ready for the lake tomorrow - it would suck to be suited up in nomex.

Speaking of LeCain, he appears to be fastest first session.

The Baytos K20 broke an input shaft at the end of the second day of testing at Nelson Ledges and is a no show here at NJMP.

OBTW, the weather is beyond horrible.

    Kevin,
Still go and find out about the Honda FC. I still have the wings and can take the motor from Morgan's car that way it can be de-nuetered.

I know the plan from the start was to do a motor for FC based off the fit but I'll ask if anyone has a timeline.

    Default LeCain fastest today.......

Looks like LeCain was fastest today in his carbed, H-pattern, Toyota 1600cc powered, 90's vintage Ralt RT-41. No sequential gearbox, no paddle shifters, no auto-blip, no carbon brakes.

    Nice job, Paul!

Some photos from today. It is so hot that the heat waves off the ground are actually distorting our photos. Top that off with the fact that the track is unbelievably difficult to work with and it's a photographer's worst nightmare

3:00 pm this afternoon, under the Wisko awning, their wizzy digital thermometer... 105.6

    It was brutal.

Yet, with relentless bright sun, a photographer's worst conditions...Team Valet comes through again.

    Default NJ Q1

Way to go Paul, on pole by .081 over David Grant. Looks like the comp adjustments are proving to be effective on the parity of table E.

    Default Race 1 Qualifying

    http://www.atlanticchampionshipserie...lifying-1.html

Looks like LeCain on pole (RT-41), with David Grant next (014a) , followed by Fahan (016). Nice mix of cars at the front of the grid.

Anyone know what engine Grant is running this weekend?

    Default Race 1

Looks like David Grant won, followed by LeCain, and then Keith Grant.

Race 2 is apparently to be gridded based on the Race 1 results (fastest lap).

What a fantastic race. This weekend seems to see all of the packages running real close to each other... 1600, 1800, 014, 016, Ralt 41... It was a blast to see these cars ripping around in big packs passing each other lap after lap into turn 1. It's impressive to see a pass under brakes consider how short the braking zone is for turn 1.

If you want to see some of the biggest difference in braking and cornering ability, check where the ARCA cars brake for 1 and where the Atlantics brake for 1 Anyway, some photos of the action today.

Congrats to David Grant on another double win.

Does anyone know what engines the Grants were running this weekend? Were there any 1800cc cars in the race?

    Default Rounds 3 & 4

This has been said before but Mike, Bob, & Al have put together a really great thing here. The support staff really goes out of their way to let us race and compete without a lot of the mumbo jumbo hand jive that you see in other sanctioning bodies. Especially Joe Griffin who makes working with tech informative and helpful.
It was good to meet the Grants. Good guys. Me and the Ralt just didn't have enough for David.
But we had a great time (brutal weather aside), grabbed a pole and 2 podiums, and are bringing home our car intact.
Also, thanks to Sarah Bonnier for supporting the drivers, Greg Rickes for the calls of the race, and Dennis for all the great pictures.

    Paul,

Congrats on a great weekend, and for upholding the Ralt honor so well. Imho, many gave up on the RT41 way too soon.

I doubt Rand will give much credence to my suggestion to allow older cars (non-014,016) to lower their skirts to the bottom of the tub....bummer !

    Congrats to all,
    Bill

In fact we had a long tech discussion about skirts. In particular, where is the measurement point?

The old pro rule was that you measured off the tub without any jabroc or whatever (you had to have measurement holes in the jabroc). The club rule (in my opinion) is that you measure from the jabroc. After a long discussion it seems we're going with the 'club' version, but this may be revisited.

People didn't especially want to give up on the RT-41. The old pro series went to the spec Swift 008. When it was shown to be much slower than the Ralt, they hobbled the Ralt with a 5/8" skid plate, minimum wing angles, etc.

know one knows the real spec of the baytos car. depeding on when you speak to HPD guy, motor is either sealed or unsealed, makes 250 or 255 hp and they want to run it w/o SIR even though GCR requires one. Baytos wasnt there and neither were the QSRE so most questions couldnt be answered.

Biggest topic in meeting was brought up by me and was a rehash of atlanta meeting apparently. I asked for Table E to be abolished and return FA to 1600cc class with the 016 aloowed to run as a spec car with its old pro spec 2.3 motor, not built versions of it. After much talk poll was taken and by about 10/2 people wanted table E gone. Problem with poll is it didnt provide alternatives. Keith Grant seemed in favor of having competitors more or less apply for homologation ( my word) for each engine combo and then be given a spec line based on performance. I am guession the others wanted to leave it as is.

about an hour long meeting that really nothing got accomplshed. End of the day , after Summit Point the series is gonna have to step to the plate and make some uncomfortable decisions.

edit : Eric Oseth called from QSRE after he saw post and said K20 motor is unsealed but ECU is sealed
