I will take the HANS if it is still around? Is the 40 the right size for a VD zetec?

    Default Probably not.

seems most Van Diemen drivers use a 30 so better try one on before you buy.

Default Glad to let you try it.

Joe, I would be glad to send it to you to try first if you would like to. It is all dependent on how you like to sit in the car. If you sit in your car and put an angle finder on your torso it should tell you how far reclined you are. People chime in here if I am wrong but I think the 30 equates to a 30 degree incline and a 40 to a 40 degree incline.

    Default Assembly Tool

The LD200 assembly tool is available again as it was not keyed to the buyers expectations, I can take a photo if someone else is interested to make sure it is a match.

Rob, I just sent you an email with my contact info, give me a call.

    Thanks

    Default 97 Van Diemen Frame

    Hi Joe,
Just curious where you picked up the '97 chassis, and where it's headed to. Recognize it as one of my old cars, based on the paint scheme, and the StClair sticker. Was a very nice car, but really tight fit, even when I was 30 lbs lighter. Widening the frame should have made it much more comfortable, and easier to drive. BTW already have needed to run the Pennon tray I picked up from you earlier in your sale, very sweet item, thanks again. Have a fun, safe season in your Swift!
    Regards, Dave

    Default MarkDickens

Dave I picked this up from Mark a few years ago and planned to convert it to a wide track Zetec powered car. Family priorities and the opportunity at a Swift changed my mind so it is headed to California soon to Ethan and "Team Wisconsin"! The additional width in the shoulder area definitely makes it more comfortable, St. Clair does great work as evidenced by their performance today in the F2000 Championship!

Glad the diffuser worked out and you've put it to good use already! Thanks again!

    Default hi

    errr...
i have a rf-97 pinto.... what's involved in converting to a "wide track"? and, do you know anyone that could convert to a zetec, or were you planning to do it yourself?

    mike

ps- if i had any money i'd have bought all your stuff... which likely means that it's unlikely that i'll be converting to a "wide track", or zetec, but i was curious. maybe after i will the lottory...

Default Wide Track - My Plan

Well I was going to do it and from what I can tell on the wide track the rear pickup points on the front A-Arms would need to move forward about an inch. Rear - I never got everything together to determine. I had accumulated all of the 01 and newer suspension including uprights but never got it hung on the car.

For the Zetec I was going to attempt that along with some talented welding help but the diagonal bar on the right would need to move as it is right where the Zetec intake is, the front engine mounts (upper and lower) would need to be added. I don't know if the standard Zetec exhaust would work with the lower bars on the left side of the engine bay. Not easy but Clark showed everyone that with a little work they are fast and slick. If you win the lottery please call as my garage still has quite bit of stuff I'd like to sell!
