For what it's worth, which is getting your money's value for free advice, these recent 008 prices are tempting. SuperVee dollars, Atlantic speed and cornering capabilities, with modern safety features. Is it me, or are we nearing nirvana soon? Now, the only piece missing in my mind is a bulletproof engine/tranny combo.

"bullet proof" and Formula Atlantic is an Oxymoron ............hate to say it but it just is.

What does 'Freshening' entail? frame off? engine only? calipers rebuilt? soup to nuts.

    "freshening"=

Complete car inspection, any parts showing wear are replaced(example wheel bearings movement, hiem joint ball movement, cv's wear etc.), inspection of all hoses and wires replacing any hoses with signs of rub wear or dry rot, re-routing hoses and wires to eliminate any binding or chaffing, checking bolts for proper tourque spec all bad or worn threads get time certs installed, making sure all body panels are snug fit adjusting mounts to achieve this, adjusting sterring rack to eliminate "slop", motor rebuild top and bottom end, atlantics don't have "frames" but tub and trunions are inspected tub is inspected at all pick up points and motor mounts, calipers are flushed and blead but not "rebuilt" unless needed(example pistons sticking, etc.). Gear box is useally inspected and rebuilt but I'm including a freshly rebuilt 0 mile box direct from taylor on this car box still has taylors tag and job number on it. Plenty more is done but hope this clears it up.

Lol, pressed is a relative term. I'm pressed for a lot of things but not cash YET. If **** hits the fan I'll lower the price.

Currently running an F2000 car in Rands/Wright/Guibord series with John Walko Racing and having a great time. Kicked around getting an Atlantic ALSO but was told I would be frustrated, eventually, with a 008 since it would not be competitive and would be an anchor to sell when, knowing me, I would want an 016 or 014.
BUT. If I could grab yours cheap run this season and only lose a little rather than a lot than I could be persuaded.

Call if you change your mind.

Charles - Just get off your butt and buy the car already. Close to home and race ready. I doubt you will find this quality of car for any less. If you destroy the car you have saved yourself 30-60k.

My approach hasn't changed, but anyone with Atlantic experience will be tough to beat if they have a competitive package/team.

Sorry for the hi-jack Dave but this is better than the work "bump"

I second that! you better buy one of these damn things, you spent all winter talking me into picking up an FA legal car and now you're still without and the season fast approaches. Come on chaz, put up or shut up!!!!!
Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays.
