Default Swift DB1 Bellhousing Seal for Drive Shaft

Seems the drive shaft seal immediately rear of the bellhousing has shifted rearwards.

Was thinking this could be rectified by just removing the gearbox and persuading it back in. No oil leak as yet

Is it common for these driveshaft seals to move/fail?

    Any traps for the unwary?

Next time the car is apart we'll probably fit all new seals. Who would have these?

Thanks for any advice - one week out from race day....

I have no idea what you're talking about. The only seals in the bell housing are for the clutch slave cylinder. Are you talking about where the input shaft goes through the bell housing?

    Default Yes

That's right- input shaft at bell housing. Between bell housing and gearbox. Location of rear springs.

The input shaft has no seal. It goes through the hole in the slave cylinder. The slave cylinder has 2 o-rings and 2 Teflon back up rings. Post a picture if you can.

Are you just seeing movent of the slave cylinder? It moves in and out when the clutch is depressed.

    Default slave piston

Oops- that's it. We worrying about a problem that isn't really there.
But the slave system set up might be worn.

Thanks Neil Porter for the email on this.

    DB1 noobs here.!
