Are those ducts over the cylinders custom made? or does someone make them?

Is this a custom design? Or something I just don't recognize?

I spent around 1850 with Lindstrand and over 3000 with Jim Wallschlager @ Veetech in 2010 and bought a new set of hoosiers for about 700...so 5500 in 2010. This is a fast car I think, I am 6'3 and 215 lbs and still have to add 35lbs to just make weight for SCCA FV class of 1025lbs. After Milwaukee last year where I finished second with 1.24 times I weighed 1026 lbs.

    Rick,

Ron Sokol may be of Russian heritage, but the car (Sokol Vindicator) was designed and built in Bolingbrook, IL (home of Drew Peterson). Ron is a big dude and the car was built to fit large drivers.

Well, some might think I'm shallow but this is one of the best looking FV I've ever seen.

It looks fast standing, overall reminds me a bit of a Mygale FF.

Whoever designed this did a good job of building a good looking FV I believe. Nice air box for the carb, same for the cooling scoops as somebody mentioned before.

Would be interesting to see more pictures of the frame.

What is the background of the builder?

    Default FV

Front and rear brake bias I presume? Current firebottle? Any shots of the cockpit and pedals as well as bare frame? Where West of Chicago is the Vee located? I'm working the Run Offs this year a will more than likely have time to stop by (your schedule of course).

    Larry,

Dan doesn't seem to check in here very often

He lists a phone number of (630) 746-6742 in his ad. A call might be your best bet.

The yellow roller Ron Sokol has for sale out of Woodridge.here is his contact info
ronsokol@att.net. The Vindicat is a well built car and very strong,I would consider it a piece of art .Not 4 tires,2 frame rails and a jungle gym to hold the body up...WELL built and thought out.
    thanks

    hookedup,

are the air ducting molds to the ducts over the cylinders and heads? If so would you have any estimate as to the price for a set of them

I may be interested but I'm in PA and the distance may be a problem. Any ideas on how I could get the car to PA? I need to look into delivery costs. Looking at two other cars that are closer, but yours is interesting also.

If you want to contact me directly, please e-mail me at mwhitesu77@comcast.net

    Thanks.

After a bit of a drive through some crappy weather and a bit of a drive back in mostly better weather, I am now the proud owner of this Vindicator.

I had a chance to meet the designer/builder of the car, Ron Sokol, while in Chicago. You will not meet a nicer, more helpful, and more knowledgeable guy. Ron is old-school in all the good ways.

Ron has a brand new Vindicator roller sitting in his garage that would make an awesome car for someone looking to get into FV racing with a brand-new machine at a GREAT price. He has a ton of spares for the cars and has the ability to make anything you'd need for the car at a more than fair price. He has a pic of the car posted earlier in this thread but if I were Ron, I'd start a separate thread for the car. Just sayin'...

Thanks to everyone for all their help and advice. I hope I've been decent enough to everyone that when I start asking a ton of questions and ask for more advice that I'll get an equally good response as the one I've had while shopping for a car. See you at driver's school!
