Default lighter brakes for the stohr

things have been crazy busy here at BRD this winter, but we have managed to finally get the light weight brakes mounted up for Taylors Stohr FB car. this kit has been in development for some time now, and finally got the mounts machined and dimensions verified and the custom rotors are on order. we did a lot of research and ultimately settled on Alcon radial mount calipers for their light weight, stifness and great price vs performance. this kit will take between 18-20lbs off the car as it sits (4 piston wilwoods and vented rotors all around) the lighter rotational mass alone will be a great improvement, but we also fully expect the alcon calipers and solid gas slotted rotors to outperform the big hefty wilwoods. we have cnc billet mounts for the front and the rear(no weight lost or gained here), using ARP studs and jet nuts, and they are a direct bolt on install on the stohr uprights. the rotors are direct replacements using the same rotor bobbins. this package gets the stohr to a standard f2000 brake package that is well proven in cars of this size. we decided that while the brakes "work" they are relatively low quality and extremely heavy for this car. we are excited to test a good quality brake package on the car in our quest to improve every possible aspect of the car.

    our math

    rotors 10.25"/.810" vented............................................ .... 10"/.375" gas slotted
    7.75-8lbs depending on brand............................................. ....... 4.5lbs

calipers wilwood 4 piston .................................................. alcon 2 piston
    3.8lbs............................................ ....................................... 2.6lbs

    pads tbd............................................... ..................................... tbd
(smaller, so lighter, .5lb ish x4)

    total 46.4lbs (using 7.8lbs for rotors)........................28.4lbs(-18lbs-20 w/pads)

What kind of rotors are you planning on using? They look cool.
